Of Rivers
2026, US, 16mm-to-digital, endless run
Of Rivers is a composition film that never plays the same way twice. It assembles itself in real time from 16mm footage of dozens of rivers, shot over eighteen years — water at every level of stillness and turbulence, from drift to rapids. Rather than a fixed sequence, a set of rules translated from the filmmaker's own editing instincts decides which image comes next, based on how much water each frame holds and how it moves. Sound follows the same logic. Fixed in its rules, endless in its outcomes: each viewing is one path the water happens to take.
